Things to know before leaving
Heliskiing is skiing in remote natural landscapes. Kamchatka are very similar to the Alps or the Rockies as regards the weather: It is very fickle. Thus you have to expect that some days might not be ideal for flying and that therefore helicopters don’t take off for safety reasons. The prevailing weather and snow conditions and the level of avalanche risk dictate whether the group will be able to fly to the top of the mountain and ski down. Our heliskiing guides and pilots have the right to restrict skiing or stop it altogether. As a client, you agree to respect all decisions made by the guides and the pilots in this regard. These restrictions are only taken to ensure your safety and to make sure you are able to enjoy skiing. It is very important that good preparation is taken to make sure your trip runs smoothly!
Complimentary freeride course for all participants
We invite all participants of our heliskiing trips, to take part in a complimentary two-day weekend course in the Alps. It gives you the chance to brush up on your deep powder skiing abilities, and we get the chance to decide in advance on the optimal group allocation. This way we avoid putting people with different levels of skiing in the same group. By strategically putting our groups together in this way, we ensure that people can ski down in harmony. It helps us, but most importantly it helps you.
Only those with a good enough level of fitness can enjoy the ultimate heliskiing experience
You can expect long and in parts quite difficult deep powder snow runs on your heliskiing trip. But it would be a shame if your thigh muscles started burning and you ran out of steam early into the trip. This is why we suggest starting a conditioning program as early as possible, ideally three months before the trip.
